Crazy remedies for hair loss

cow lickNew research has revealed one in ten Scottish men feel depressed about hair loss. It’s no real surprise given the fact that a man’s hair is often linked to his self-esteem and confidence. Going bald can be a real shock to the system and it is most commonly associated with old age.

Understandably, when men do start to lose their hair, they often turn to anything which promises to help cure the problem; even some pretty bizarre remedies! Here, we’ll look at some of the most crazy hair loss cures many men have tried out.

The cow’s lick

Perhaps the most bizarre remedy for hair loss to crop up is the cow’s lick. It’s been said that if a cow licks the head, it can cure baldness. It’s surprising how many men have actually tried this supposed remedy.

There’s unsurprisingly very little information as to whether or not this works. However, you’d imagine if it did, the guys who had tried it would have raved about it!

Tea

A more common, yet still crazy, remedy for hair loss, is tea. Specifically, green tea bags are said to help combat hair loss. It’s said to stimulate the hair follicles and boost blood circulation. Again, there’s very little evidence to support this actually works, though it’s unlikely to do anything bad to the hair so it’s one of the safer remedies to try out.

Cow urine

There’s a theme going on here, but this one is even more disgusting than the cow’s lick remedy! In India, Hindu worshippers are adamant that drinking cow’s urine can cure baldness. However, not just any old cow will do. Nope, the cow’s need to be virgins. The urine also needs to be drunk before sunrise. How it supposedly works isn’t revealed but that doesn’t stop some men trying it out.

As you can see, there’s some pretty crazy remedies out there and the truth is, they’re highly unlikely to work. If you’re looking for a hair loss solution, there’s plenty of approved, effective and safer options available. Contact a hair specialist to see which treatment would be best for you.
