Wills embraces baldness, but what are his options?

Wills embraces baldness, but what are his options? Before his marriage to Kate Middleton, Prince William was considered the best looking member of the Royal family. However, fast-forward a few years and the prince has certainly changed in his appearance.

Most notably, his ever-receding hairline has become a huge media talking point. It was even suggested Will’s was contemplating a hair transplant procedure. However, now it’s being reported he’s actually embracing his baldness after giving in to the fact there’s nothing he can do about it. But is this actually true?

What options are available?

While embracing male pattern baldness is the best way to deal with the problem, it’s not always easy to do. If you’re having the same issue as Will’s but you simply can’t accept it, there are some well-known, effective solutions available.

As with any health issue, the sooner you start treating male pattern baldness, the better. There are medications available that can really slow down the rate of hair loss providing they are used early enough.

Minoxidil is one of the most popular hair-loss medications and is available in 2% and 5% strengths. The latter is only available via prescription, but the 2% strength can be picked up over the counter at your local pharmacy. It’s a topical treatment which will need to be applied directly to the scalp.

Looking for a more permanent solution?

So what if your hair loss is quite severe? In this instance you have two main options and those are:

  1. A hair transplant
  2. SMP

Hair transplants are notoriously expensive, made popular by sports stars such as Wayne Rooney. While they can produce great results, they also have a high risk of failure.

SMP on the other hand is a lot more effective (and less expensive). It’s a tattoo procedure, injecting tiny pigments of specialised ink into the scalp. Its results are fantastic, successfully giving an illusion of hair particles. What this means is you’re left with a shaved head look. It can also be used to cover up small bald patches, hiding the scalp from view.

So, if you’re experiencing male pattern baldness like the prince, you do have several options available. You can choose to embrace it like Will’s, or take action now to treat the condition.
