Reality star reveals “gory” hair transplant pics

Celebrities, Hair Transplant Surgery

Geordie_shoreGeordie Shore’s Kyle Christie has recently revealed pictures of the hair transplant treatment he has undergone in the hope of getting a fuller head of hair.

The 24-year-old member of the popular TV show has always appeared to have a good head of hair but decided he wanted to get an early start in preventing his receding hairline. What’s more, he has shared pictures of the procedure he had done at The Skin Clinic + Hair Transplant Centre and it isn’t for the squeamish.

The Procedure

The images released show Kyle undergoing the follicular unit extraction (FUE). The procedure requires the patient to have their head shaved and follicles transplanted from the back of the head to the hairline and other required areas. Each hair is individually applied along the hairline after it has been extracted from other areas of the crown.

This is the same procedure that the likes of Wayne Rooney and Callum Best have made famous, and it isn’t uncommon for men to get the treatment at an early age, especially if hair loss runs in the family.

Of course the somewhat gory photographs of the Geordie Shore star with blood dripping down his face might have put some people considering the procedure off a little. But the patient will usually be under local anaesthetic when the surgery takes place.

What To Expect Post Surgery

When the post-operative instructions are correctly followed, patients usually notice the hair transplant is minimally detectable after a few days and almost completely undetectable after a week. Medication is provided to treat swelling and any discomfort the patient may experience; any swelling that does occur will likely disappear by the end of the first week.

After this, the patient can expect to see the new hair grow after around 10 weeks and be fully grown at the one year date. Shedding is a common site after the transplant and therefore you shouldn’t panic when the transplanted area is looking thinner.

Following the advised routine from your surgeon will ensure your new transplant has the best possible start.
