One of the founding partners of the globally successful HIS Hair chain of clinics has announced the launch of a new business called HairLossForWomen.com.
Ranbir was instrumental in the launch and development of the pioneering treatment SMP which has revolutionised hair loss treatments in the UK over the past decade. Whilst the business was launched to treat male hair loss issues Ranbir noticed an increase in enquiries from women over the past few years. The idea to create a dedicated business came when she experienced her own hair loss last year.
“There seems to be a lack of clinics dedicated to addressing women’s hair issues which are distinctly different to those issues affecting men. We’re fortunate in that we’ve built up a chain of clinics in the UK for our male business so we already have the infrastructure in place to be able to launch quickly.”
Female hair loss causes and treatments
There are a number of potential causes of female hair loss, all of which require an individualised and targeted treatment programme, so finding a female hair loss expert is key. Female hair loss could be the result of a hormonal imbalance, for example if there is a problem with the thyroid gland. Or it could be the result of an autoimmune disease which has attacked the hair follicles, causing hair loss. Other underlying health conditions that can cause hair loss include pregnancy, anaemia or a skin condition such as psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis.
Genetics are a common cause of female hair loss, as women are increasingly likely to suffer from androgenetic alopecia as they get older, the progressive form of hair loss known as male pattern baldness in men.
A warm and empathetic approach to hair loss
Hair loss isn’t a life threatening condition and many women who have experienced hair thinning or loss report that when they sought help from their GP or other medical practitioners they often felt they were being dismissed or that their problems weren’t being listened to. HairLossForWomen.com takes a unique approach to female hair loss, providing impartial advice and expert treatment combined with an understanding of the embarrassment and distress that hair loss can cause.
Clients are offered a free consultation to ascertain the best solution and treatments are available in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Glasgow.
