A new herbal hair loss treatment by the name of Nolopecia has been launched in America. The product claims to be a safe and effective dietary supplement and users are expected to take the Nolopecia capsule twice a day.
Nolpecia works by targeting latent viruses which are present in our bodies. Researchers behind the new hair loss treatment discovered that latent viruses can increase the production of two particular proteins (dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and the androgen receptor (AR)) which are both associated with the development of hair loss and balding in men and women. By targeting these latent viruses and controlling their numbers within the body, the researchers believe that normal hair growth can resume and hair loss is prevented.
FDA-Approved Hair Loss Solutions
Unfortunately, the supplement has not yet been approved as a hair loss treatment – only the drugs Minoxidil and Finasteride have been FDA approved for treating hair loss.
Minoxidil works by both reducing hair loss and increasing hair growth. Although the exact molecular mechanism which operates in the hair follicles as a result of Minoxidil’s presence is unknown, many have speculated that Minoxidil works by dilating the blood vessels around the hair follicles. This can increase the supply of nutrients to the hair follicle and encourage hair growth.
For Minoxidil to be effective, patients need to ensure that they are correctly applying the topical solution twice a day on a daily basis. Noticeable results can often be seen by the sixth month of usage. Much like Finasteride, the effects of Minoxidil will only last as long as the treatment is continued; otherwise any hair which has grown as a result of the treatment will most likely shed.
If you are suffering from hair loss, it is advisable that you speak to a doctor first to rule out any underlying medical conditions that are causing hair to fall. Accordingly, a hair loss expert will be able to guide you in choosing a more suitable hair loss solution.
