Harry hair lossIt’s William who’s been the subject of most hair related reporting in the last few weeks after he unveiled his new sharp crew cut but it won’t be long before all the scrutiny is focused on Harry with his impending wedding.

After pictures of his engagement to Meghan Markle were released, it showed the Prince with a noticeable bald spot. Situated on the crown of his head, the patch of skin was clear for the world to see and it’s started a huge topic of conversation about his path to baldness.

The Royal’s path to baldness

Although we’re only just noticing the Prince’s obvious bald spot, if you take a look back at old photos, it’s easy to see the problem has been brewing for a while.

Some experts predict his balding started to become apparent in 2010. His hair appeared much thinner from the back in comparison to the rest of his hair. However, it was still very difficult to spot. Fast-forward to a year later and the crown of Harry’s head did appear a little thinner, but still it wasn’t overly noticeable; especially when he was pictured with brother William.

It wasn’t until 2013 when Harry really developed a noticeable baby bald spot. Since then, it’s become more noticeable as time goes on, following in the footsteps of his older brother and father.

The Prince’s hair loss is genetic, which means it’s impossible to prevent it. However, there are ways to treat and cover up the problem if he chooses to do so.

What treatments are available?

When it comes to genetic hair loss, there aren’t any magical cures available. However, there are a few excellent treatments which can minimize the problem.

Hair transplants tend to be the most obvious solution, though they do need to be carried out while there are still plenty of donor hairs on the sides of the scalp. It’s also an expensive treatment, something the Prince may not need to worry about, but the average man cannot typically afford.

A more affordable solution is SMP. This clever procedure, offers long-lasting results and is much cheaper than a hair transplant. However, it’s essential you get it done by an experienced, qualified practitioner. To find out more about the treatment options available, book a consultation with a hair specialist. They’ll be able to determine which treatment will work best for you.
