young football fanTen year old Bret Rhodes-Yeomans from Farndon has managed to raise over three hundred pounds by cutting his hair so that it could be used by the Little Princess Trust. Bret had started to grow his hair out last year in March after he was inspired by the hairstyle of footballer Gareth Bale. However after he learnt about hair loss which is caused by cancer treatments, he decided to donate his hair to the charity so that it could be used to make a wig for a child who suffers from hair loss.

Nick Rhodes-Yeomans, Bret’s proud father praised his son and talked about how Bret was taken aback when he discovered that some children end up losing their hair to cancer therapy. Although Bret has not personally been through such an experience himself in his life, he was still able to empathise with the suffering other children have to go through.

More than £300 raised

The family is thrilled with the support they have received and that Bret has managed to raise more than three hundred pounds at such a young age.

Bret is also a keen football player himself and plays as a winger for Newark Town Warriors in the under-10s team. His team mates have offered their full support to Bret and were even a part of a team which managed to raise more than five hundred pounds for new club shirts which sport the Autism Awareness logo. Newark Town Warriors club director also recognised and praised Bret saying how proud they are of Brets fundraising effort.
