Hollywood icon Rob Lowe has shared his thoughts on the future King of England giving in to hair loss. The verdict was less than kind… we look closer.
Rob Lowe
Rob Lowe made his acting debut, at the age of 15, in an ABC TV sitcom. He would achieve stardom during the mid-1980s as a member of the Brat Pack and through appearing in a string of successful movies. 1988 was a bad year and he was one of the victims in a sex-tape scandal. A year later he bombed when delivering the opening performance at the 1989 Academy Awards and his career took something of a downward turn.
It was a downward turn that would eventually last ten years until he was cast in the tv drama, The West Wing. The show was a smash hit, Lowe was nominated for an Emmy and for two Golden Globes. His career has not looked back since and he remains a hot property to this day.
William, Duke of Cambridge
Prince William, future King of England, caused a bit of a stir last year when he attended a function with a shaved head. It fully revealed what everyone had known for some time, though the extent was a surprise. The Prince was visiting a children’s hospital and sported a freshly cropped Norwood Scale 5/6 bald dome.
His younger brother, Harry, once said of William, that he has been bald since the age of 12. A reference to the certainty of his hair loss future rather than an accurate description. His hair loss has been the source of countless editorial pieces ever since.
An Heir And His Hair Loss
In a recent interview with the UK newspaper The Telegraph, Rob Lowe was asked a seemingly harmless question about whether he was more or less vain than the average British man. He replied “That’s a low bar. Can we talk about William?”
He then launched a joking tirade against the Prince, attacking him for not bothering to prevent the advance of his hair loss. He went on “Honestly, one of the great traumatic experiences of my life was watching Prince William lose his hair. He’s going to the *!@*!@ King of England!”
Lowe claims William could have avoided his fate crediting a “pill” for saving his own hair… “The first glimmer that a single hair of mine was going to fall out, I was having that stuff mainlined into my @**!*! veins. And that’s what I did for the next thirty years.”
HIS Hair Clinic
We suspect William will brush off Lowe’s comments, and the media frenzy that followed. He has proven himself capable of laughing at his own expense when declaring that his newborn son had “way more hair than me, thank God!”. No doubt his wife, Kate, also keeps his feet on the ground in that regard. On a visit to Australia, she commented that William might benefit from some of the wool from the sheep being presented to the Royal couple while pointing at his head and laughing. Unfortunately for the likable Lowe, he seems to have stirred up a hornets’ nest judging by the reaction to his comments on Twitter. He may have underestimated how protective the Brits are when it comes to their Royals, who they know are constrained from easily defending themselves.
