Did Prince William really pay £180 for a hair cut

william buzz cutOK so he may be the future King and and he does spend an awful lot of time in the public gaze but isn’t the reported £180 still a bit steep given Prince William’s lack of hair to start with?  Actually the story apparently has no basis in fact and as the Daily Mail Royal correspondent tweeted “The Duke is very amused that anyone thinks he has enough hair to justify that kind of money!’ a source told me. At least he has a sense of humour about it!”.

Actual cost remains a mystery

The actual cost of the buzz cut by the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite hairdresser’s assistant remains a mystery but even if it were close to that figure the Prince could consider a cheaper option to achieve the style (which has been generally well received).  First of all he could get himself a decent razor and shave the lot off himself.  Then he could get in contact with a reputable hair loss clinic and ask for Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP).

Perfect for the hectic royal schedule

The procedure is fast becoming the most popular treatment for men with thinning hair.  Unlike a transplant it’s non inavsive so doesn’t require any downtime, other than for the 2-3 hours that the procedure takes.  That’s perfect for a hectic royal schedule.  Normally it requires two sessions (sometimes three) so that a skilled practitioner can recreate the 3d layered look of a real buzz cut using subtly toned organic pigments which are injected into the scalp with fine micro needles.

For the Duke of Cambridge it could be the perfect solution as good quality SMP is indistinguishable from the real thing.  Family and friends and perhaps, more importantly the media wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.  Also at the reported rates per cut he’d soon be saving a lot of money with the permanent low maintenace procedure.
